- Description of the Project
DDSI aimed at supporting the development of dependability policies across Europe. The core of the project involved the creation of robust and sustainable communities of interest involving policy makers, infrastructure stakeholders and dependability experts. DDSI involved targeted communities from EU member states, accession countries and experts from across the world.
This community building was supported by robust and comprehensive policy analyses by the research team:
- Conceptual, contextual and comparative overviews of key public policy issues and global benchmarking as a guide for understanding and a basis for agenda setting
- Thematic policy roadmaps, translating the current state-of-the-art into practical information to feed the European policy debate
In addition DDSI identified three priority thematic areas that needed immediate attention:
a) public-private cooperation models
b) warning and information
c) R&D in information assurance and dependabilityDDSI has resulted in:
- the consolidation of a unique multi-disciplinary international network of experts and stakeholders
- a detailed overview of policies and issues in all member states and accession states benchmarked against other nations including the United States, Canada, Australia, India, the People's Republic of China and Japan.
